Farewell 2009

WOW...What a Year it has been!!!

(Beware a Long Post ...LOL)

I wanted to quickly pop on and share with you all some of my Favourite Layouts for the Year...(that is before I go out again to a Party for New Years Eve)...Where have I been lately, other than work and teaching the last couple of months,Life  has been Caotic, Fantastic,Fabulous and Extremely memorable.

Recently I  moved into my newly built Home (160 boxes unpaked, a mammoth effect), I love where I live as it's close to the water and bush, and its so relaxing after a day at work. In November I celebrated my 4oth Birthday (shhh) ...On the actual day I had a lush dinner with my family who completely spoilt me, and that weekend I had a Massive Party with my Friends and Family. From there I then went straight into Christmas mode .Christmas was awesome, as a Family we wanted to make sure that the spirit and magic of Christmas surrounded the kids as much as possible, they had a Fabulous time, as we all did.

Using the awesome range from Graphic 45, here are a few of my favourite things in my new house. Some pieces are quirky but each has a lovely story behind it, especially the picture of a pair of hand made shoes my grandmother wore back in her homeland which sit on a hand crafted wrought iron and wood mexican treasure trunk.  I based this layout on one I did a few years ago.

These Beautiful Prima papers were so perfect for a Wedding photo of my brother and S.I.L. I took things to the next level and bladed the centre out of both gates and to give it more stability I adhered a transperncy to the back, so that way the gates can be opened to reveal some hidden journalling.Little seed pearls adorn the gate and follow the flight of the Butterflies.
A few Close-up Photos.

This must be my all time craziest Blading project I have ever completed (I taught this at Scraploot weekend away)
The entire tree was bladed, and as I wanted to create a fairy light look in the tree  I threaded wire that had beads on it through the branches, placed dimensional foam on the back to give it some height then I had to put the tree down on the layout...a mammoth effort....The gate was also bladed to that the picture could be seen through the pailings...they also open up to reveal hidden journalling.
A few Close-up Photos.

It has become abit of a tradition over the last couple of years to go over to my mums with my niece and nephew and help her put up the Christmas tree, after which Christmas photos are usually taken...while putting the tree up we all sang Christmas Carols and danced alittle...We all had so much fun !...Here are a few photos (out-takes) from our day.

Finally the Big Bash ( I"ve put together a small collage of photos of the night). My dear friends convinced me awhile ago to have a big party, so with lots of my closet family and friends (70 to be exact) they all helped me celebrate in style. I decided to have a theme, the invites and my B'day cake were Red High Heel Shoes, and everyone was requested  to wear alittle or alot of the colour red (red being my favourite colour). With over 2000 fairy lights, beautiful lit up red lanterns, long stemmed vases with red decorations and tea lights all around ...the atmoshere was set. The food was amazing (So many people helped out)...lots of drinks were consumed and the music was pumping all night, (definately a few sore heads the next day)

I had the most Amazing night ever...Thankyou to everyone

Oh and I also wore Red Patten Leather High Heels.

Cuddles & Kisses....Deep in Thought

The weekend that has just passed was absolutely amazing. Went away with a whole group of friends, and had the best weekend I've had in ages.Lots of Laughs, Silliness, Drinks, Food....the list goes on. I can't wait to scrap the photos ...they are hilarious....Thanks Girls for a Fabulous Weekend away.

The Little Princess with Me at her first Family Christmas Lunch. This Layout was created by cutting the centre of the paper, and adhering strips of organza ribbon through the middle.I painted the Chipboard with a light Pink paint , silver glitter and then applied Glossy Accents. Little jewels, bling and a black velvet flower to complete the layout.

My Gorgeous Nephew lost in his own Little thoughts...whenever I see him like this, I love the serenity that shows across his face. This beautiful range of papers comes from Kaisers Q2 release.

Websters Pages

I never mention the weather because hey there is better things to chat about, but seriously the weather that we have been experiencing has been super crazy. One day Summer heat, the next cold, windy and  pouring rain. Winter clothes then summer clothes, it's driving me crazy.

Ok with that being said here are two layouts that I taught as classes over at Scraploot, both featuring "Websters Pages" paper. Both layouts have alot of depth (that really can't be seen on the pics, but trust me alot of mounting foam was used).

I have used this Picture on a previous layout, but my niece  is so super cute a had to use it again. The design for this layout is fully credited to Sue from Scraploot, thanks :)

Websters papers are just gorgeous to work with, beautiful colours and great elements within all the papers. My darling nephew on Birth holding onto my finger...This is definately one of my all time favourite pictures.

Lots of Layouts

I had a Fabulous Weekend, catching up with friends, spending time with the Munchkins (lots of playing, painting and chasings) and as a bonus going on a ride on the back of a Harley...

Yes....I know I said that I was going to upload each day for a week, but lots of things came up, busy end to the week...sorry :) . So here are three layouts that I completed awhile ago.

I just Love this photo of my Niece, I wanted to create a soft shabby chic look to the layout, with some girlie touches of Lace, Velvet and Beads....not forgetting tiny sead pearls.

A Chilly Winters Day, a warm vest and a Scooter. My Nephew loves has scooter and whenever he gets the opportunity his glued to it.Up and down the driveway, and as his getting older the speed is increasing.Fingers crossed no falls yet.

I love the everyday moments, my mum and niece tucking into a large bowl of Spagetti Bolognese. Definately a Favourite Meal.

Delight in Life

My Gorgeous Little Niece on her 3rd Birthday, thoroughly enjoying her Freckled Krispy Kreme Donut.

I saw the idea of the pleated skirt on a layout over at Prima...it was such a cool idea that I had to use it ( sorry can't remember who the designer  was)...and the bright colours of the papers matched the freckles on the Donut perfectly. The little Journalling Booklet wrapped in Organza ribbon also contains 6 other photos and some written memories of the day.

Gotta Love Those Smiles

My Favourite Two Little Boys, playing together and never apart.

When this range came out I knew it was perfect for this photo.I little different for me...hahaha no inking, but I did pen-in a running stitch line around all the elements (it highlighted them so nicely). I also did some hand stitching on the little hills, and alot of magic mount to give height and depth to all the different elements.

Cosmo Cricket Papers, Fairly simple lines and design , a little different for Me but I thought it was perfect for the photo of my niece....How Long till the Weekend?????

A Letter to Mum

Back in May I was asked to do a Class Layout for Mothers Day, after much thought I designed one which enabled me to write a letter to my own Mum. As I have written before, My Mum has faced alot of hurdles and saddness in her life, but her strength, determination and love for children kept her striving to do whatever she could for us. The Photo  is not one of my Mums favourites, but it was the only one I had with her at Christmas.

This one is for you Mum...Love You.

I have used an older range of Prima papers  and cards  (I wrote my letter on the cards after taking a photo of the Layout). On the chipboard Bird /Flower Spray I covered the Bird with paper, inked the rest in various ink colours then applied Crackle Glossy accents, which gave it a nice earthy look. .

Bedtime Take 2

Since yesterdays theme was Bedtime, I thought I would share another layout that had a photo of the kids when they were getting ready for bed. I have used Basic Grey Papers, Prima Crystal Swirls and a Chipboard Word Frame .The Layout has been based on a Beggahunna Sketch.

Getting Ready for Bed

There is nothing sweeter then Kids getting into their PJ's, all snuggly and warm. Whenever the Munchkins come over for a sleep over, at every opportunity my camera comes out to take those every day moments.

Here I have used a range from Basic Grey and a sketch from Creative Scrappers. My niece loves having her photo taken...to cute.

This range of papers from Daisy Bucket was perfect for this photo...I have used red felt strips to tie in with the colour of my nephews dressing gown.

No More Tickles and Just Relaxing

I sometimes hate, hate, hate computers and this last week my laptop and I have not been the best of friends...I've had difficulties uploading photos etc...still having a few issues but hopefully things are now back to normal.Life is continuing to snowball out of control, thankfully I can escape into my scraproom and forget about everything in the outside world...if only for a few hours at a time.

One of the things I love doing most is playing with the Munchkins and that usually means lots of tickles...these are just a few of the pictures captured when I was mucking around with the little man.The inpsiration for this layout came from the talented Spinvild, using papers from 7 Gypsies and Prima products.

My Brother "M' and S.I.L "L" on their wedding day.I was inspired by the talented Carol Jansen for this layout, I loved what she did originally with the papers (pop over to her site to have a look at all her wonderful work)

My Little Venture

Two Months ago I started a little venture, privately teaching a group of ladies...what they wanted was advanced style layouts over an 8 week course...So we have been up and running over the last 6 weeks and having the best time creating, chatting and challenging ourselves...

My darling niece at her cousins birthday (which was held at her grandmothers house) there was this lovely statue from Beatrix Potter which all the kids were facinated with...Too Cute

I loved working on this layout, I was inspired by a layout from Lady Grace and her use of Blacks/Browns and Creams. The range of papers are from Creative Imaginations...mostly the "Narrative" range. On the Chipboard elements and the papers, I have used Glimmer mist , inks and then applied Glossy Accents over the top. ( I always do my journalling after posting)

My Dear Friends and I at a recent Family Birthday. The range of papers used here are from "My Minds Eye"...such a lovely range to work with...I did some weaving of paper panels before layering the border over the top then blading off the excess...With the chipboard flower spray and Fence...I used a crackle medium, various paints and inks to achieve the result on these elements.
(Sorry the photo isn’t the best quality due to the weather at the time of taking the photo.)

Creative Scrappers Designs

Being on the Design team for Creative Scrappers has been such a wonderful experience. Each week the sketches that have been given to the design teams have been such a pleasure to work with...So a big thanks goes out to Kristine for such an amazing site and everyone else that works behind the scenes.

This was Sketch 53# designed by Deb Harper ( I also taught this as a class at Scraploot). I wanted to create a real Shabby Chic feel with this layout using the Beautiful My Minds Eye "BellaBella French Flea Market" range of Papers, Prima Crystal Swirls and lots of gorgeous laces, velvets and ribbons. The Photo is a recent one of me taken by a friend and printed onto canvas material.

Sketch 57# was designed by Sketchitout.Ive been slowly doing Layouts of my Brother and Sister-in-laws Wedding, so one of the Bridal Party was a must. The Range of Papers for this layout comes from Kaisers "Sukura Park", with a few little touches of Bling and Lace.

Frizzled and Frazzled

Have you ever felt like your being pulled in all different directions and never getting very far with everything that your trying to get done...Well welcome to my world. I have that much going on and definately feeling abit frazzled...I NEED A HOLIDAY...LOL...Ok well I've got that of my chest, so a few more Layouts for you. Hope you like them, Till Next Time.

My Nephew could not resist taking his cousins motorised Dune Buggy around the backyard when he saw it...even though it had Pink on it ("Thats for Girls!" he said) but Boys will be Boys when it comes to any sort of cars. This was a Layout that I taught at Scraploot, the girls all enjoyed it and the Monkey was definately a a nice finishing touch.

I love working with the Design Team Sketches at Creative Scrappers...and the wonderful earthy tones from the 7 Gypsies Harvest Range just complimented the sketch I had to work with. My friend "K" and I mucking around yet again at a recent dinner.

All Little Girls Love having their Hair done and "A" was thrilled with what her Aunty "R" did ...a Cool Funky Hair Do which she loved. This was another Class at Scraploot featuring Kaiser Papers, Bling and Glimmer Mist.

Bella's Little Sister Ruby Rock-IT

I know its been absolutely ages since my last post...Thanks to all the emails and messages that I have received, I have been well but Life has continued to be extremely busy in all areas of my Life. Between my fulltime job, my classes at Scraploot which are continuing to go well, I have also started teaching an Advanced course focusing on different techniques and styles , so yes some weeks have been really caotic. My Dear Friend "H" had her 40th Birthday, family celebrations and a few weekends away, all have added to a very busy couple of months.

A while ago Sue the owner of Scraploot asked me to put together some samples for the Bella Product showcase at the store, it hadn't been released yet and I was amazed at the awesome new release for Bellas Little Sister "Ruby Rocket-IT". The following 4 layouts are from the "Vintage Beauty" Range.

My Niece and I at her 3rd Birthday Party playing around with lots of L aughs and Giggles.

My Godchildren and I hadn't had any photos together for ages so, so with a camera near by and all of us being in a silly mood.... alot of cool candid photos followed.

Four years ago my whole family came together and celebrated my nephews Christening, the years have flown by, but this is still one of my most cherished photos with my Little Man.

He Is ...Gorgeous, Smart, Cheeky, Reflective and very Loving. He Is my Nephew.

Some Silliness and A Princess

Dancing around the backyard or pulling faces for the camera, either way, fun photos to scrap. With both the layouts I've used one main photo then used a few other small ones to tell the story.

On a different note, a dear friend of mine became a grandma for the first time, Big Congrats on your New Bundle of Joy.

My friend "M' and I mucking around and doing what we normally do...acting like complete fools...but having alot of fun in the process. I've used the Brand new papers from Kaiser "Marrakesh" and based the layout on Sketch 48# from Creative Scrappers

The little Princess dancing around my backyard showing off her new dress...I have used other photos from this day on other layouts but I have wanted to one off her twirling...they were too cute not to scrap.I've used a Beggahuna sketch for this layout...Love her Work

Superstar

A fabulous week coming off the Easter break. The Munchkins went to their First Royal Easter Show and WOW did they have the best time. From Rides to the wonderful displays, showbags and of course feeding the Farm yard animals, their senses were on overload. I've been busy picking new goodies for the next round of classes and I'm starting a new Little Venture soon (I will be posting about that at a later stage...but it's very exciting)

Well the girls have been the focus of alot of layouts recently so I thought My Little Man needed a look in...To Me, He is my Little Superstar, from the funny things he says to the quirky things he does...and his reasoning behind it.I've used Rusty Pickle papers and the stars are made of felt with Rafta string sewn onto them...and of course alot of hand cutting LOL.

Happy Easter 2009 and a few Layouts

Happy Easter to One and All...and what a Fabulous Day it was! Lots of Eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt (that the Munchkins had so much fun trying to find), too many Yummy Chocolates to eat, a festive Lunch and alot of great laughs...I'm definately enjoying the 4 Day Mini-Holiday, after a crazy stressful week at work.

The following two layouts are from recent classes that I have taught at Scraploot.

A layout of Me and what I Am. I've used one of my all time favourite paper ranges from Basic Grey "Scarlett Letter", and for something different I glued down all the little glass beads individually on the swirls, definately a long process but I love the effect.

My Darling Niece wearing my Sun-glasses, these are now no longer as well as a few other favourite pairs, but I can't say no to her as she loves wearing them, she is such a girl and the photos of her are priceless.
